- Syn Emergence vimeo.com
A beautiful taster of the forthcoming Posthuman DVD.
Syn Emergence is a project which examines my own associative relationships between sound, form and space.
The project is constructed according to a range of specific sonic and spatial scale rule sets (micro, component, meso and macro) which I designed as part of a cross-disciplinary notation/cartographic system.
The processes of the film will be used for the forthcoming Posthuman (myself and Josh Doherty) album entitled ‘Syn Emergence’ released next Spring.

Probably the best cover of Personal Jesus. Like, ever.
- John Callaghan - Loudhailer youtube.com
Recorded as part of One & Other. This was Anthony Gormley’s piece where a member of the British public would have one hour on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square to do whatever they wanted. I decided to film a music video.
My hour was between 2 and 3pm on October the 2nd 2009, at the beginning of the Divali celebrations. The lip-synching isn’t bad considering I was listening to a different piece of music at the time.

- Introducing Astrotags vimeo.com
Astrotags are a new way to label your astronomy photos with their celestial subject and its location. This short film, made by Jim Le Fevre and Mike Paterson for the Royal Observatory’s Astronomy Photographer of the Year exhibition, shows you how. So have a watch, then astrotag your pictures at the Astronomy Photographer of the Year group on Flickr. If everyone joins in we can make a beautiful and accurate map of the night sky… so pass the word on.

This is one of several animated short films set to the audio recordings of philosopher Alan Watts (1915 – 1973). From what I can tell, the animations were made several years ago and were produced by the makers of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

- LJ Kruzer - Tam vimeo.com
Before working on this piece, I spent a lot of time listening to the track and album as I really wanted to immerse myself in the subtlety of the music and create a video that reflected my own emotional response.
Visual concepts developed as a response to repeat listening. I was then inspired to develop a new technique using expressions in After Effects. This technique allows me to create markers in the audio track which can influence pretty much any effect or property of the visuals.

- Harmonic 313 – Battlestar vimeo.com
Shot stereoscopically (i.e. on 2 identical cameras separated in space to mimic 2 eyes) the clip uses a flicking technique that was inspired by 2 frame animations of 3D photos.
In this technique, a sense of depth is provided to the footage by changing between the left and right eye views between each frame. In moving footage, not only does it add a sense of depth but also a definite intensity and alternative reality to each scene. For different people, it can create a curious mental floatiness in some shots.
