- Hidden London | Kingsbury hidden-london.com
Because Kingsbury is not a highly desirable area, most of Trobridge’s enchanting homes are not in the condition they deserve to be. After the war, Wembley council built a major housing estate, destroying most of Kingsbury’s historic buildings in the process.
On Saturday, a new urban advertising screen was turned on in London. This one’s a little different to the norm though: it’s 176m above the ground, 60m wide and 5m tall. Oh, and it wraps around the BT Tower.

- The fourth plinth: it was just Big Brother all over again | Art and design | The Guardian guardian.co.uk
If One & Other is an image of British democratic life in our time, it is a pessimistic one. It is a portrait of a society in which people will try anything to get their voices heard, even stand on a plinth, but where no one can hear what they're saying.
"Last month, stretches of the river Lee were included on the list of 117 "bodies of water" across England and Wales that, according a new European rating system, are now classified as "bad". In total, just five of the 6,114 rivers surveyed received the "pristine" classification; three-quarters failed to attain the "good" grading."

- Stephen Bayley's opinion on the battle for Chelsea Barracks | Art and design | The Observer guardian.co.uk
"The fabulous absurdity of the media "debate" between Prince Charles and Richard Rogers is that each is a historical relic. The prince is a throwback to the 18th century and beyond, the architect is a suntanned survivor of the 20th. We are now in the 21st, a century with priorities of its own. Charles's unreflective and ludicrous enthusiasm for anachronism in architecture has its equivalent in Rogers' dogmatic and doctrinaire insistence on aesthetic conflict with metal and glass."

- Poilâne, boulangerie en ligne poilane.fr
We source our sea salt from Guérande. Our flour is exclusively stone-ground. We work closely with our flour makers to use the very best varieties of wheat. And, we use a piece of dough from the previous batch of bread – the sourdough – as a starter for the next batch. The type of oven used to bake bread is also important. We bake our breads in wood-fired ovens. These ovens are fed with waste wood that cannot be used for any other industry.

Looks great, but £895 sounds rather steep, even for 3 days (conference plus workshops) . Doesn't look like it's possible to pay less and just attend conference day. Definitely aimed at corporate types, not that there's anything wrong with that.
